New mobile Employee App to engage remote and frontline workers
A huge event took place in September – we launched one of the largest intranet features so far: Workai Mobile, an Employee App that helps organizations effectively communicate and engage remote and frontline workers.
Workai Mobile is a one-stop app for employees to get company information, news, and events. Connect with co-workers through the internal social network, provide feedback, search for people and knowledge, develop skills, plan work and get things done with tasks. Automate internal communication with personalized recurring Newsletters
If you tend to send daily, weekly, or any automated newsletters – now it’s possible with Workai. Let’s say you want to send a daily summary of all most important news, or a bi-weekly reminder about upcoming events. One of the brand new Workai Intranet features – recurring Newsletters, allows you to send beautiful Newsletters at any given recurring pattern.
It’s super easy to set up. You just need to:
- Create a new template
- Add any content – text, images, links
- Add a list of content and set dynamic parameters, for example: News with tag “Important” published last day, or all Events published during past 5 days
- Go to the Admin Panel and create a new Recurring Newsletter
- Choose a previously created template
- Select audience and sender
- Select a pattern: hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly – you can also set specific days and hour
- That’s it, your automated recurring Newsletter is scheduled to send!
From now on, your newsletters can become even more easily personalized thanks to the option to add dynamic variables in CMS. Now you can use variables ($USER.FIRSTNAME, $USER.SURNAME, $USER.EMAIL, $USER.TITLE, $NEWSLETTER.SENDDATE) which will be converted automatically to information about the newsletter recipient. Now you can greet receivers personally, just write “Hey, $USER.FIRSTNAME 👋” and they will receive a nice greeting with their first name.
What’s more, you can track each newsletter’s performance in the Analytics platform, to learn the open rates, CTRs and how this channel performs in your internal campaigns.
Simple pages or complex site layouts – build interactive content with new intranet CMS features
CMS is one of the core intranet features in Workai. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to create and publish personalized, interactive, and engaging content through multiple communication channels. That’s why we’re constantly supplementing the templates in our CMS with new types of content, blocks, and options. What have we added recently that will make it easier for you to publish well-performing, bulletproof and eye-catching pages?
New capabilities of your CMS to communicate more effectively with your employees
We want to give you as many options as possible, so we’re listening to the needs of internal communicators and equipping our CMS with new ready-made blocks and new options to existing ones. Discover them and customize your content.
- BANNER 1-1-1-1: new image block with 4 same-width images, perfect for linking to internal or external content;
- TWO COLUMNS OF TEXT: new block with two columns of text, good for magazine-like layouts;
- MESSAGES BAR BLOCK: you can now add a custom background and colored text, decorate it for VERY important announcements, or the Holiday season;
- IMAGES SLIDER BLOCKS: images can now slide automatically without clicking, set the speed and watch it spinning;
- NEWS ROTATOR BLOCK: you can change the aspect ratio of the content displayed in it, to adapt the ROTATOR to your custom layouts;
- RECENTLY UPDATED BLOCK: new statistics source option gives you the possibility to search for recently updated pages from the current structure or the entire intranet, so you can easily show the stats of specific section;
- BANNER BLOCKS: a new “Set overlay” option in banner blocks to make your BANNER texts more visible.
Free your imagination and create complex views with a new category of blocks – LAYOUTS
Sometimes, you need to put the content you want to provide in a more complex form than just one column. Our new layout blocks enable you to create sets of the content displayed in sophisticated forms. They allow even better sorting of content, making everything even more organized and readable. What can you find in this category?
We categorized layout blocks as:
- ACCORDION LAYOUT – using this block, you can group text blocks so that they expand when you click on their titles. You can fit almost any block into a single ACCORDION – text, images, videos, files, and more. It helps with very looong pages, now the content can be easily divided into collapsible sections.
- TABS LAYOUT – TABS blocks work on a similar basis as the ACCORDION blocks shown above. They differ only in the layout of the tabs. This structure gives you the ability to add blocks to tabs and switch between them.
- COLUMNS LAYOUT – with this layout block you can group the blocks in a column view. 2 columns of video? 3 columns of files 4 columns of anything? You name it. Select the number of columns, and put other blocks in them – all blocks will be automatically adapted to a column view, so no worries!
Even more complete information about the events
Did you happen to sign up for an event and then forget about it? Or maybe you just want to feel more secure having an email confirmation of participation?
Your employees want the same! With new intranet features, including Outlook integration, you can set up events and training pages in the intranet to send confirmation of participation straight to your Outlook Calendar. Such a message will be sent automatically to the employee’s calendar after they sign up for the event, or being invited to one.
You’ll also find it easier to plan long-term events and training sessions with a new calendar block – TIMELINE CALENDAR.
You can make each event or training even more distinctive by customizing their layouts, icons, and colors. In Data dictionaries, you’ll find a collection of settings that will enable you to add more details and additional elements to every event. If you have the need, you can even create new types of events. This will make your employees’ calendars, as well as yours, more readable and understandable.
No more tag duplications
Tagging allows you to get to your content faster. From now on, you will have even better control over the organization of the tags to which your employees subscribe on the intranet. In the Admin Panel, you can now find Intranet tag filtering that will help you easily find any tag duplications.
Parlez-vous français? Workai available in French
Do you speak French? If yes, we have great news! All Workai apps are now available in French. Use all intranet features and our other modules in your native language. This is the next step in adapting our solutions to the needs of employees around the world. We have more translations planned, of course!
