The new platform will streamline internal communication, strengthening the engagement of nearly 22,000 bank employees. This is one of the first cloud-based projects on Microsoft Azure to be implemented in a financial institution in Poland. It is the result of a collaboration between PKO Bank Polski, the Polish National Cloud Operator, Microsoft, and Workai.

For several years now, PKO Bank Polski has been successfully implementing a digital transformation strategy, covering both customer services and internal processes. This transformation is supported by innovative solutions co-created with tech startups, strong development of mobile channels, advanced data analytics, and a shift in organizational culture and working methods. One element of this strategy is creating a friendly work environment, including within the digital workplace. The implementation of the Digital Employee Experience platform, Workai, will significantly support internal communication and enhance the digital experience of the bank’s employees.

The main goal of implementing Workai is to ensure efficient information flow within the organization and among employees. Thanks to this new cloud-based solution, bank employees will have quick and easy access to information, also on mobile devices. The platform will improve multi-channel information management.

Personalization, intelligent search, analytics, and user experience

The new tool makes it much easier to deliver the right information at the right time to the right audience. With personalization and advanced analytics, employees receive content that is truly relevant to them. The platform also offers intelligent search capabilities and an outstanding user experience. Its primary goal is to streamline internal communication and knowledge management, while the use of mobile technologies and AI contributes to strengthening employee engagement.

“On our cloud journey, also in the case of internal systems, we focus on innovative, secure, and proven solutions. Back then, it offered proprietary intranet solutions for small businesses. Today, it is also being implemented in international corporations and ranks among the top global intranet solutions.

The platform implemented at PKO Bank Polski is a multifunctional and user-friendly tool, recognized on the market and awarded twice by the independent international agency Nielsen Norman Group as one of the 10 best-designed intranets in the world. Creating engaging internal content is simple and effective, thanks to the built-in drag-and-drop CMS.

The first Polish bank in Azure cloud

The implementation of Workai is one of the first deployments in Microsoft Azure cloud carried out in a financial institution in Poland. By boldly adopting a cloud solution, PKO Bank Polski gains a competitive edge and maintains its leadership position in the banking market. The cloud provides a secure and cost-effective development environment, enabling access to the latest technologies, smooth implementation of innovations, and quick adaptation to rapidly changing user needs.

The openness to cloud solutions results from the strategic cooperation between PKO Bank Polski, the Polish National Cloud Operator, and Microsoft.

Already at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, PKO Bank Polski, in collaboration with Microsoft and Accenture, carried out a comprehensive implementation of Microsoft Teams, which transformed basic organizational mechanisms and improved team communication. The implementation of Workai, integrated with Microsoft Teams, further addresses the challenges of remote and hybrid work, combining collaboration with multi-channel internal communication.

PKO Bank Polski consistently implements its digital transformation strategy based on cloud computing. The choice of Workai, implemented in cooperation with the National Cloud, is an excellent example of how innovations and the competencies of a Polish startup can meet the needs of large public companies. It demonstrates that technology ensuring security, continuity, operational smoothness, and work comfort is becoming an essential element of communication.
